On 28/11, at Intercontinental Hotel, the seminar "The role of business in enhancing the national competitiveness" is held by Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs in collaboration with Vietnam Ministry of Planning and Investment Portal, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the World Economic Forum (WEF) that has the participation of Mr. Philip Roesler - CEO of WEF.

Appreciating the effective cooperation between Vietnam and WEF, Chairman - General Director of TrungThanh, Mr. Phi Ngoc Chung attends the seminar as the invitation of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This seminar focuses on several main contents such as the relationship between the competitiveness of enterprises and national competitiveness as well as enhancing them.
The participants include Mr. Bui Thanh Son - Deputy Minister of Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Philip Roesler - CEO of WEF.

At the seminar, Mr. Bui Thanh Son affirmed the importance and necessity of improving the competitiveness of Vietnam enterprises as well as of the economics in the integrating period.
Discussing at the seminar, Mr. Phi Ngoc Chung frankly pointed out the weaknesses of TrungThanh in particular other businesses in the country in general such as weak competitiveness, small scale, weak management level, and depending on the state sector that leads to many difficulties and disadvantages for businesses.

In position of Permanent Vice Chairman of Ha Noi Small and Medium Enterprises Association (HASMEA), Mr. Phi Ngoc Chung states the extensive and comprehensive remarks. He assessed that the process of international integration of Vietnam is entering into a new stage further. In 2015, the Community of ASEAN will be officially put into operation. Vietnam is preparing to conclude negotiations about Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with main partners such as EU, Korea, Customs Coalition Russia - Belarus – Kazakhstan, and efforts to negotiate Trans-Pacific Strategic Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP) and Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP). It will be a new opportunity for small and medium enterprises in Vietnam. However, besides the advantage are the big challenges; the deeper economic integration is, the more drastic competition is. Therefore, enhancing the competitiveness has become an urgent demand than ever for economy and Vietnam businesses.
